Laboratory Calender GK 300 L 6R for Dry Battery Electrode Technologies

Engineered for dry electrode precision - from powder to laminated film

Dry Battery Electrode Development

Accelerate Dry Electrode Innovation with Full-Process Control

The GK 300 L 6R replicates multi-stage industrial calendering for dry battery electrode R&D. Its precision-controlled roller system and modular process configuration allow researchers to simulate full production workflows with exceptional flexibility and technical accuracy.

Dual Operating Modes for Film Formation & Lamination

The 6-roll calender supports two distinct operating modes:

  • Double-sided lamination (+film): Simultaneously creates films on both sides and laminates them onto a substrate — ideal for symmetric layer formation.
  • Single-sided lamination (+film): A dry film is generated and laminated on one side only, using a single hopper and modified roller routing — optimal for asymmetric designs and process-specific tuning.

Realistic Multi-Nip Simulation for Dry Electrode Research

Our modular calender system features a three-gap configuration that enables complete process validation across all critical stages of film development.

In the first gap, dry film formation is achieved under precisely controlled conditions. The second gap allows for compaction or densification, ensuring structural stability and optimized mechanical properties. In the third gap, single- or double-sided lamination or film finalization is carried out to achieve the desired surface characteristics.

With independent gap control at each stage, this configuration enables full-process validation of pressure, film thickness, and mechanical integrity.

Process-Ready Platform for Advanced R&D

With integrated unwinder/rewinder systems, in-line IR preheating, edge trimming, gap measurement, and a dedicated control panel, the GK 300 L 6R enables accurate testing of binder-free formulations, dry powders, and sensitive film laminations. The modular system can be reconfigured to match your evolving testing protocols.

Whether you’re optimizing film compaction, evaluating lamination temperatures, or testing sensitive dry powder formulations, the following components and configurations enable you to build a system that aligns precisely with your research objectives.

Remote Maintenance Module (standard)

Optional remote service interface enables online support, diagnostics, and updates by our engineers via secure GSM or LAN connection.

High-Precision Hydraulic Gap Control (standard)

Hydraulically regulated gap control system ensures accurate pressure distribution and micrometer-level gap control across all three nips. Live digital feedback supports continuous process optimization.

Edge Cutting and Doctor Blades (standard)

Manual crush cutters enable precise edge trimming, while integrated doctor blade systems ensure clean, residue-free roller surfaces during processing.

Roller Temperature Management

Each roller includes integrated electrical cartridges for temperature regulation to 150 °C, with optional upgrade to 200 °C for special materials. Control is managed through a mobile panel with ±1 °C accuracy.

Integrated Web Handling

Unwinder and rewinder support up to 300 mm material width and 250 mm diameter, with options for geared motor drive, servo-assisted tensioning, and web edge control.

IR Heating Arrays

Dual infrared heating fields precondition the web prior to lamination. Group or continuous adjustment via PLC ensures uniform energy distribution across both sides.

Flexible Roller Configuration

Each roll stage can be tuned for gap distance, pressure, temperature, and compaction level — giving full control over each step in the dry electrode process.

Inline Thickness Measurement

Three-point thickness measurement via LED micrometer and temperature-compensated sensor ensures dimensional accuracy with ±2 µm tolerance.
