Pittsburgh, PA / Bocholt, Germany – August 29, 2025 – Matthews International Corporation (“Matthews” or the “Company”) today announced that it has signed an agreement with B. Heynck GmbH (“Heynck”), headquartered in Bocholt, Germany, to join forces and secure sole access to additional critical technology for the Company’s dry battery electrode, multi-roll calendering equipment.

Heynck, a long-time strategic supplier of Matthews, has collaborated closely with the Company for more than a decade in the development of highly specialized hydraulic cylinders for its affiliated Saueressig Engineering branded, advanced calendering solutions. This partnership builds upon the strong foundation of trust and technical excellence that has been established over years of cooperation.

This technology provides Matthews with a differentiated advantage in individual hydraulic control of calender rolls to achieve the forces, thickness and gap control required for producing quality electrodes in a dry process. The partnership will further promote continued development and advancements in unique, patent protected calendering solutions for Matthews’ customers in the rapidly evolving global battery and energy storage industries.
