Laboratory Calender GK 300 LThe indispensable basis for your innovations with flexible, real-world calender testing at lab scale
The GK 300 L empowers researchers to simulate industrial calendering processes with precision, flexibility, and efficiency. Engineered for adaptability across materials and industries, it’s the trusted solution for labs pushing the boundaries of innovation.
Designed to handle a wide range of materials — including foils, powders, slurries, granules, and both coated and uncoated substrates — the GK 300 L adapts seamlessly to your specific use case. It can be configured for either vertical or horizontal operation to fit your lab’s footprint and workflow. This makes it an ideal solution for R&D in diverse sectors, including battery technology, hydrogen fuel cells, plastics, and specialty chemicals.
The GK 300 L enables accurate replication of industrial calendering parameters at lab scale. With line speeds of up to 5 m/min, compression forces reaching 15 tons, and gap control accuracy down to ±1 µm, it delivers high-fidelity data to support meaningful experimentation and scale-up decisions.
Engineered for flexibility, the GK 300 L can be equipped with additional modules such as unwinders, rewinders, heating or cutting units to match your evolving testing needs. An optional electrohydraulic system allows for precise control of pressure and gap settings via a mobile panel. Thanks to its plug-and-play architecture, the system requires only a power connection – no compressed air or complex setup – making it easy to install and operate in any research environment.

Tailored to your demands, components such as unwinders and rewinders, heating units, cutting units or guide rollers can be added flexibly. As an additional option, the gap adjustment and the pressure of up to 250 bar can be regulated via an electrohydraulic control system – optionally also via mobile panel, which can be used to set further parameters.
The calender unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the trolley — pre-configured connections make setup fast and adjustable to your process.
Roller width: 300 mm; line speed up to 5 m/min — ideal for lab-scale trials and detailed process studies.
The GK 300 L features a mechanical gap adjustment system with a robust ratchet and precision wedge design. This allows for independent left and right gap setting, even under full load — giving operators complete control over material thickness and pressure distribution during testing.
Gap force up to 15 tons can be applied with high accuracy, supported by integrated measurement sensors. Left and right gap settings can be independently adjusted with a precision of ±2 µm, ensuring exact replication of production conditions and delivering reliable, reproducible data.
The system comes ready to handle both sheet and web formats, featuring an infeed table, powder hopper, and guide rollers. These components enable custom web path routing and efficient handling of diverse material types without added complexity.
The GK 300 L is compatible with a variety of optional components, including unwinders, rewinders, heating units, cutting systems, and additional guide rollers. Each can be flexibly added to match the needs of your experimental setup — maximizing capability without compromising simplicity.
For enhanced control, an electrohydraulic upgrade is available, enabling automated regulation of both gap and pressure — up to 250 bar. Paired with a mobile control panel, this upgrade allows for advanced parameter input, supporting high-throughput, high-precision process trials with minimal manual intervention.
